Foucault and Marx
The year 2024 marks the 40th anniversary of Michel Foucault’s (1926-1984) death. The documentary Michel Foucault, Le philosophe et le poisson rouge by Lise Baron commemorates the legacy of the philosopher as an intellectual as well as political figure through superimposing archive material with filmic animations. The movie is screened in the context of the symposium Foucault and Marx: Ambivalences, Legacies, and Future Struggles, where scholars from around the world try to explore the tense relationship between Foucault and Marx(ism).
